ENOUGH! Already!

A blogging friend sent me an email and asked why I hadn't posted here at "So, God..." in a while... I told her I'd post when I had something to say... Well... today I have something to say...

Enough already! Let this man rest in peace. I thought after yesterdays day long memorial event people would shut up... but no... still today, all over the airwaves, it's still there...

and what really got to me was (I didn't watch... it was a news clip... I don't think I could have stood the whole thing!), yesterday, during the service some idiot referred to Michael Jackson as "the King"... not "the king of pop"... not "the king of rock"... just "the King"... I have to say that irked me to my soul...

There is only one "King"... and you won't find him on NBC.

I think I'll go say the Rosary now... and pray that Mary will pray for us... because the Lord knows we need it.... "the King" indeed...

Father's Day

Anonymous ...
One night a father overheard his son pray: Dear God, Make me the kind of man my Daddy is. Later that night, the Father prayed, Dear God, Make me the kind of man my son wants me to be. Happy Father's Day wonderful Dads... and God Bless each of you...

Quote of the month...

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:

"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of swine flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

Revisiting a December Post...

First published in December, 2008... I still look out on this field every morning... I thought the sunrise was worth sharing again...
********************************************

This morning I was pouring my first cup of coffee and looked out on the north hayfield behind our house... it didn't produce much in the way of hay this year, and I don't really pay much attention to the field most of the time... but this morning the field was aglow with the early morning sunrise and it was... well... majestic...

and then to the east... the sun was rising behind a foggy shadow... and it too was beautiful...

Blessings from our Lord in this early morning sunrise... Thank you.

Memorial Day...Pray for Our Soldiers...

While remembering our soldiers and celebrating the freedom that they protect...
Remember to pray for our soldiers on active duty, and their families...
They give the greatest gift when they lay down their lives to protect our country.

The Visit...

Tonight, after church, Ricky and I decided to visit the church cemetery. It is where most of Ricky's ancestors are buried. It is where his first wife is buried; and where Ricky will be buried one day.

It may sound strange, that we would take a stroll through the cemetery... but honestly, I always find it peaceful and comforting. There they are, family and friends... people we once knew and loved... still love. Time has stopped for them... as it will for us all one day. There, they rest, all together... Someday, we will join them.

Someday, our family and friends will take a walk through the cemetery looking for loved ones... Maybe, they'll stop and talk about us, remembering times gone by. Remembering those that have gone before us... on Memorial Day, and every day.
